Yong was brought up in an immigrant family. His mother left his father many years ago when he got violently abusive to her. She had since been the only carer for Yong and his brother. Unfortunately, the mother was later diagnosed with Thyroid cancer and had to stop working to receive cancer treatment. The inspector came to visit and saw that their washing machine was leaking and could not be fixed. Besides offering financial aid, the Foundation also bought them a brand-new washing machine. Despite the unfavorable family circumstances, Yong kept up his grades and won the filial duty award twice in a row. Yong recently wrote a thank you letter to express gratitude to the Foundation and wished everyone at the Foundation good health.
