Wang was born with hearing impairment and had a surgery to wear a unilateral cochlear implant from an early age. The device then reached its expiry date, but the family was too poor to replace it. The Foundation thus funded a new one for Wang. Wang recently got injured in a scooter accident. The accident put him out of work and affected the family income. After repeatedly receiving financial aid from the Foundation, Wang has now returned to work and got back on his feet financially.
