Li grew up in a social welfare institute, is more independent than her peers, funded her own studies by working part-time, and landed a job even before she graduated from university. But soon after starting her job, she was diagnosed with lymphoma. The Foundation offered her short-term financial aid during her cancer treatment. She wrote a thank you letter to express her gratitude for the Foundation’s long-standing help and support. After a few months, Li was doing great in her treatment and shared the good news with the inspector. She later got a new job, lifted herself out of poverty and started a new life.
