Hua’s Neighbor’s House Fire Impacted Business, Resumed Operations with Our Assistance.

In March 2020, Huang’s neighbor, a man with mental health issues, set his house on fire burning his mother to death and severely injuring his brother as well as damaging Huang’s living room and chicken in the corridor, which amounted to a loss of nearly one million (Taiwan) dollars. Huang had a business selling coffee on his truck in all major scenic spots. His coffee business had already been dampened by the pandemic, and then the said fire put him out of business before he had his house sorted out. The basic house renovation that went on for several months got him into debt, but seeing that the neighbor’s family were not affluent, Huang did not seek compensation from them. He was still short of money to re-open his business. The Foundation decided to offer him financial aid to purchase coffee beans and re-open his business. The general public also learned of Huang’s story through the news coverage in the media.
