Cui previously worked in a plastic molding factory, then had an occupational accident resulting in him suffering from multiple vertebral fractures in the thoracic and lumbar spine. Though he did not die in the accident, he ended up with paralysis from his chest down and would be bedridden for the rest of his life. His family finances were in a dire situation, so the Foundation offered him emergency relief funds many times to cover their everyday expenses. Additionally, the Foundation funded Cui’s wheelchair and commode chair and had them delivered to his house.
