Ms. Zhuang, with polio, used to live alone on government benefits and sold scratch cards. She then got her legs injured from a car accident and could no longer work. Despite her circumstances, she had every intention to get back on her feet and support herself.

Ms. Zhuang understood that self-reliance is the best policy. Despite the persistent pain from the leg injuries, she has recently resumed selling scratch cards. The Foundation’s inspector paid her a visit at work. Selling scratch cards does come with some hassles to do with street survivals. But Ms. Zhuang is happy to be self-reliant and make a living for herself. She is thankful for the Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation’s help, which generally made her life a lot easier during her recovery.
