Grandpa Xiong’s epic journey from a foot injury to recovery and job seeking

Nov 14.2019 | Economic Self-Sufficiency

Grandpa Xiong had a car accident, ended up with a left ankle fracture, went through surgery and had to rest for up to five months, unable to work. The Foundation’s inspector paid him several visits and offered him living allowances.

After his recovery from the foot injury, he went to visit the owner of a construction company, who was then willing to offer him a job as a substitute driver for the cement mixer vehicle. Grandpa was deeply grateful and said, “Thank you to the Foundation for the economic help that saw me through this challenging time. I feel really lucky that someone would give me a job and an income, especially for someone my age.”
