Wen is a Vietnamese woman married to a Taiwanese man who turned violently abusive. They got divorced. Wen met her current husband and lived a happy life but not for long. Thirty weeks into her pregnancy, Wen was diagnosed with stage-3 colorectal cancer and had an emergency Caesarean section. One month after her daughter was born, Wen started her chemotherapy and paused her factory job. Her husband who also worked as a factory operator often had to take days off to look after Wen in the hospital and ended up having his salary reduced. The Foundation offered them long-term financial aid and bought Wen nourishment products like Ensure, while continuously checking on the family to make sure they are doing alright.
