Lack of resources can often lead to attitude problems and low academic performances for children of disadvantaged families. In remote rural areas, children are usually brought up by grandparents, hence a more serious education problem and wider rural-urban disparity. The Foundation funded operation expenses of the Rulakes Love Children Book House in Jinfeng Township, Taitung County, so that it could run after-school lessons for these kids, offer them a meal, shape their character, keep them from going off the rails and eventually overturn their fate of poverty. The after-school class currently has about 10 students mostly from indigenous families. The Foundation has long been dedicated to the education of children in remote rural areas and recently paid a visit to check on them. Seeing the children doing their homework with an innocent happy smile on their face, we are certain that the Book House has become a haven of love where they can hang out and read after school.

Families in the city or with a decent income would often let their kids attend summer/winter camps for diverse extracurricular learning, whereas school children in remote rural areas, due to their disadvantaged social economic situations, often have fewer extracurricular resources and end up with low academic achievement and other social problems.

Christian Born Anew Fellowship’s Hualian Faith Hope Love Academy (Academy) takes care of kids from dysfunctional families. These kids are often under the influence of the environments, prone to self-identity confusion or blindly following other people and eventually have behavioral problems. The Academy provides everyday care and education & consultation hoping to lead the astray kids back to the right path.

Disadvantaged families are less capable of giving their children decent educational resources which can lead to low academic performance, attitude problems and later on, social issues. To overturn the fate of these disadvantaged marginalized children from low-income families, single-parent families, and children in the care of their grandparents, Love Xizhi Charity Association (Love Xizhi Charity Association) provides after-school lessons and everyday care to prevent them from falling into the cycle of poverty due to lack of resources. The Foundation went to check on their progress on January 18.

Located in Taichung Beitun, near Daya and Tanzi Export Processing Zones, Love for ALL Association cares for children of indigenous families that have moved to the city for work. Such families lack resources and cannot afford to give their kids extra learning opportunities. The pandemic has dampened the donations, so the Foundation decided to pay them a visit the other day in addition to sponsoring their operation expenses.

Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation does not only sponsor the vulnerable and disadvantaged groups but also act as a matching platform for donors of all sectors to public causes to help distribute love to all corners of Taiwan. Recently, Ming-Dao, worked together with the Foundation in the care for Hsinchu Guanxi Junior High School specialized sports class which recruits neglected kids in nearby townships for baseball and track-and-field training to boost their confidence and cultivate skills. Most importantly, the kids were given three meals and evening lessons to enhance their academic performance.

Not every child gets to grow up safe and happy in a functional family, sufficiently loved and provided for. Christian Born Anew Fellowship’s Hualian Faith Hope Love Academy (Academy) cares about troubled teenagers and keeps them company to stay clear of crime and reestablish their sense of right and wrong, plus multiple training to cultivate their independent living capabilities.

The weak resources to support education in disadvantaged families often results in low academic achievement, deviant behavior, and even future social problems. Love Xizhi Charity Association mainly provides academic counseling and living support for children of economically disadvantaged single parents, intergenerational and marginalized families to help prevent these children from falling into a cycle of poverty due to lack of educational resources.

The Holy Word Foundation Children’s Home (the Children’s Home) currently houses 20 children and teens aged 3 to 16 from abusive or negligent families or having no family or dependents and offers them emergency, mid- to long-term housing and support.

After the pandemic alert was relaxed, the Foundation visited the Taiwan Indigenous People's Sustainable Development Association of Tainan to check on the students in after-school classes who recently restarted their lessons physically. On hearing that the students did not pause their learning and continued with their online summer lessons despite stopping going to school, the Foundation chairman, Wu Jing-Ming, was impressed with the students’ earnest attitude and gave his thumb up saying, “Despite the pandemic’s blow to all businesses, the Foundation shall keep on giving their love and support to the students so that they can grow and learn.” "

The Foundation is the long-term meal sponsor of the Baseball Team in Guanxi Junior High School in a bid to care for the disadvantaged students of low-income families in Hsinchu areas including Wufeng and Jianshi. Students on the Baseball Team, to express their gratitude for the Foundation, decided to pay it forward with a cleanup in Catholic Hua Kuang Center.
