Against the backdrop of a vast meadow, a towering tree stands in the center and gentle sunshine streams through the tree and splashes onto the grass where people sit and chat or play under the tree.

The Dragon Boar Festival was around the corner, the weather was getting hot, and the Wanhua Pingan Station of the Zenan Homeless Social Welfare Foundation (shortened to Zenan) was hosting a festive party inviting Han-Shi (people of no or low income) to come along. Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation was due to distribute 500 Health Supply Packs and 500 shoulder/backpacks as a gesture to cheer on the disadvantaged groups.

In recent years food waste has trigger a heated discussion in society and food cherishing has thus become a topic that catches people’s attention.

Typing on a computer keyboard which is merely one of the communication tools for most people is however the only communication device with the outside world for those with severe physical disabilities.

Many people with intellectual disabilities are labeled since birth as incapable of taking care of themselves and some even consider it impossible for them to have the capability to work. But if taught the right way and with patience, the majority of them are able to learn a job skill, even earn a living and create their own unique value, not dependent on caregivers.

Founded by Keelung Holy Word Foundation in 2019, the Children’s Home houses orphaned youngsters aged 7 to 18, the number of whom had increased from 9 to 30 in the past two years. They needed to replace their old vehicle to cater to the large number of children in their care. Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation, on learning of this, decided to fund a brand-new 8-seater van and held the “Love sees no bounds: vehicle donation ceremony” on July 19 at Evergreen Laurel Hotel (Keelung) attended by the Foundation chairman Wu Jing-Ming, Holy Word Foundation CEO Hsu Hua-Qiang, and Evergreen Laurel Hotel (Keelung) manager Zhu Yan-Qian. The ceremony began with a lively performance by the Holy Word Taikoo team.

The Tainan Hung-Chia Sanctuary For the Handicapped primarily provides care and accommodation for individuals with severe and profound intellectual disabilities, combined with physical disabilities. The Center's learning desks have been in use for over 20 years and are now worn and damaged. The fire doors are also old and warped, making them difficult to open and close. While there is a need for replacements, but in recent years, fundraising has been challenging due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, making it difficult to update the facilities. To address this need, the Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation sponsored the purchase of new equipment and recently organized a "Spreading Love and Enhancing Facilities" donation event at the center.

Every year in Taiwan, more than a thousand people suffer from spinal cord injuries due to various accidents that cause paralysis of the limbs or lower body, some of them need to use wheelchairs to get around for the rest of their lives, some need to rely on others to help them with their daily life, and some cannot even return to society and the workplace. This is not only a heavy blow to individuals and families, but also a huge cost to society.

The Heng-Shan Social Welfare Foundation was established in 2010 to offer therapies that combine body and mind and resources to serve people with mental illness, support them to lead normal lives, and promote public awareness and de-stigmatization of mental illnesses.

Chiayi County RuoZhuEr Educational Foundation’s RuoZhuEr Intellectual Development Center (RIDC) specifically serves holders of Handbook for the People with Disabilities aged 18 or above with intellectual development disabilities and other combined disabilities by providing them with education and training.

Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation in its long-standing support of disadvantaged families in need of emergency aid across Taiwan noted that many people lost their jobs due to mental health issues and their families being their caregiver could also lose the ability to provide for the family resulting in the household income in a dire situation. In recent years we heard of many criminal cases of attacks or injuries committed by people with mental health issues triggering a wide concern from society. If there could be preventive measures and ensuring community care, such people have a chance of resuming a regular functional life, hence a reduction in social problems

Yunlin County Little Angel Development Association (YCLADA), is a group comprised of families with mentally or physically disabled kids, currently provides support services to over 100 such families The Little Heart-Heart Atelier (the Atelier) is a bakery set up by the YCLADA to provide a work and care environment for mentally or physically disabled youngsters aged 15 or above who are not housed in other social welfare institutions. The goal is to cultivate their abilities to take care of themselves through group learning in preparation for future assisted employment while preventing them from staying at home and suffering from degeneration to reduce the care burden on the family.
