Burn injury rehabilitation is a slow and lengthy process, a courageous battle against scars and pain that requires all kinds of medical treatment, rehabilitation and assistive device and faces stares from other people. Hualian and Taitung are so far out that it causes extra obstacles for rehabilitation, plus insufficient medical care and health and education resources and time-consuming transport which are all posing challenges on top of challenges for those with burn injuries. Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation has reached out to all corners of Taiwan with its services on a long-term basis. Seeing the need of those with burn injuries, the Foundation donated funds to Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation Eastern Service Center to support their rehabilitation services and help those with burn injuries in Hualian and Taitung out of their adversities. The Foundation’s chairman, Wu Jing-Ming, visited patients with burn injuries at the Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation Eastern Service Center. Seeing them painstakingly going through their rehabilitation, Wu cheered them on and hoped that more people in society will offer them support and root for them.
