The sudden and rapid surge of confirmed cases once again put our daily routines out of whack. Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation and Veterans’ Service Department of Changhua County together organized the “Fragrant Lotus Leaves and Aromatic Zongzi for Veterans” celebration party for the Dragon Boat Festival. But the party was cancelled in the end due to the pandemic. Despite not being able to show up in person, the Foundation in tandem with Veterans’ Service Department of Changhua County prepared nearly 700 pieces of zongzi (rice dumplings) and distributed them to disadvantaged veterans and their dependents as well as veterans that live alone via the Rong-Xin volunteer team. The goal is to bring them love in the time of Dragon Boat Festival. Let’s hope that the pandemic would soon abate so that we can have our life back and these elders can venture outdoors and enjoy social interaction again.
