In recent years food waste has trigger a heated discussion in society and food cherishing has thus become a topic that catches people’s attention. Taiwan Puli Care Association (shortened to Puli), in order to take care of disadvantaged families in Tainan, has for many years been proactively promoting Puli Food Back with a mission to extend food and cherish food. Puli has so far set up many food banks in Tainan and Kaohsiung calling on the general public or kind suppliers to donate foods within their expiry dates. The donated foods will then be pooled, managed and distributed to the disadvantaged groups.

Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation’s log-standing charity work has extended to all corners of Taiwan and is deeply aware of the problems persistently prevalent in remote rural areas, e.g., youth drain, elders living alone with kids in most households, limited educational resources or kids hanging about outside convenience stores after school. As such, the Foundation decided to help Puli extend its work to remote Nanxi Tainan and set up the Food Bank Nanxi Branch offering supplies to those in need. The Nanxi Branch will also double as an after-school learning center to improve educational resources and get the neighborhood to look out for each other.

The Foundation will continue to work with Puli, galvanize love and resources and distribute them to those who need them the most so as to shower love and warmth in all corners of society.
