The Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation Donates Rehabilitation Bus, Bringing Hope to Spinal Cord Injury Survivors

In order to provide safer and more convenient services for spinal cord injury survivors, the Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation donated a brand new rehabilitation bus to the Potential Development Center for Spinal Cord Sufferers on the 6th of this month. The donation was presented by Chairman Wu Jingming on behalf of the Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation to Chairman Lin Jinxing of the Potential Development Center for Spinal Cord Sufferers, with the presence of Deputy Director Chen Ruwen of the Taoyuan City Government's Social Affairs Bureau. Chairman Lin Jinxing of the Spinal Cord Injury the Potential Development Center for Spinal Cord Sufferers couldn't hide his excitement upon receiving the keys to the new vehicle, stating, "This is a very joyful day. With the new rehabilitation vehicle, we can assist more spinal cord injury survivors, and our service scope has expanded as a result!"

In recent years, the Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation has collaborated with The Potential Development Center for Spinal Cord Sufferers to provide frontline services for spinal cord injury survivors nationwide. These services range from daily life self-care to vocational rehabilitation, social adaptation, and psychological counseling, helping them regain confidence and value to achieve the goal of reintegrating into society. The Spinal Cord Injury Potential Development Center is the only professional institution in the country that provides rehabilitation training for spinal cord injury survivors. With service centers established in various regions nationwide, there is a need for rehabilitation vehicles to carry out training and outreach services. Due to a shortage of small rehabilitation vehicles or the aging condition of existing ones, scheduling and usage problems often arise. Therefore, the Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation's donation of the rehabilitation bus promptly assists the center in solving its transportation issues. In addition, since nearly sixty percent of the center's staff members are wheelchair users, the foundation has also modified the accelerator and brake of the driver's seat to enhance the efficiency of driving for the injured friends.

Chairman Wu Jingming of the Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation stated, "This donation not only represents the foundation's care for spinal cord injury survivors but also anticipates expanding the center's service scope and enhancing service quality with the help of this new rehabilitation bus. This bus will not only serve as a means of transportation but also as a symbol of hope, assisting spinal cord injury survivors in embarking on a new chapter in life."

Deputy Director Chen Ruwen of the Taoyuan City Government's Social Affairs Bureau expressed gratitude, saying, "Thank you to the Chang Yung -Fa Charity Foundation for making us feel the warmth from the foundation. It is also very moving that friends with spinal cord injuries are willing to bravely challenge themselves. Each one of them is a fighter in life. The Taoyuan City Government, along with the 26 disability organizations in Taoyuan City, has been continuously making efforts to support various services for people with disabilities. The rehabilitation bus is an important part of this effort. We also call on all sectors of society to join hands and provide immediate and local services for friends with physical and mental disabilities."

Chairman Lin Jinxing of the Potential Development Center for Spinal Cord Sufferers mentioned, "We are very grateful for the companionship of the Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation in recent years, assisting the center in helping spinal cord injury survivors reintegrate into society. Through the foundation's generous gesture, we feel the care of society, and it is also a recognition of the center. This rehabilitation bus is not only filled with care but also a support and encouragement for spinal cord injury survivors, adding hope to their path of reconstruction."
