Youth Without Drugs, Protecting Happiness Together

Dec 28.2023 | Youth without drugs, guarding happiness.

The Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation, in partnership with the Pingtung County Government's Department of Education and the Flying Life Association of Christ, has launched a series of six anti-drug education campaigns. These events will take place at various schools in Pingtung County, including Hengchun Junior High, Lai Yi Senior High, and others. The initiative uses 3D films and interactive Q&A sessions to educate students about the dangers of drugs and encourage them to resist temptation.

The 3D films vividly illustrate the effects of drugs on the brain, body, and relationships. They show how excessive dopamine release leads to addiction and physical and mental harm. The films also expose the exploitation in drug trafficking, helping students understand its personal and societal consequences.

Each campaign includes pre- and post-activity tests, showing a marked improvement in students’ knowledge about drugs and their resolve to avoid them. This data will be shared with the Department of Education, Pingtung County Government for future outreach and analysis.

Mr. Daniel Wu, Chairman of the Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation, stressed the role of family, friendship, and education in a drug-free future. He warned that drugs destroy family harmony, ruin friendships, and hinder students, who are society’s future. The foundation hopes all youth can build a bright future free from drug-related harm.

Ms. Hong Yu-Han, Counseling Director at Hengchun Junior High, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for its longstanding support of disadvantaged groups and students in Pingtung. She praised the interactive anti-drug campaign for effectively educating youth. Mr. Kuo Meng-Zhi, School Affairs Head, noted students’ enthusiasm and hoped future events could be held in the new auditorium to reach more students.
