Most illnesses heal with recovery, but burn survivors face a long rehabilitation. This includes physical recovery—treatments, surgeries, and scar management—as well as psychological rebuilding, such as emotional adjustment for both patients and families, self-reconstruction, and regaining confidence. Recovery can take years before they return to normal life.

The Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation aids financially vulnerable burn injuries by providing emergency relief and sponsoring services through the Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation. Support includes rehabilitation, psychological counseling, assistive devices, and financial aid for daily needs and medical expenses in Hualien and Taitung.

Chairman Daniel Wu of the Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation personally visited the East District Service Center to encourage burn survivors undergoing rehabilitation. He emphasized the importance of not giving up easily and bravely facing the pain and scars to rebuild a new life.

Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation CEO Shu Jing-Xian emphasized that the burn recovery is a long road , but timely rehabilitation helps survivors regain their lives. She expressed deep gratitude for the Foundation's continuous support for five consecutive years, bringing hope to burn survivors.
