Running for Hope : Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation Helps Disabled and Underprivileged Youth Chase Dreams

Committed to supporting vulnerable groups, Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation invited residents from Shin-Deng Home and Faith, Hope & Love Academy to participate in the EVA Air Marathon. This event was not just a sports competition but a powerful display of resilience and inclusion.
As the race began, participants surged forward with determination. Shin-Deng Home for the Disabled’s residents, guided by running companions, ran with bright smiles, proving that persistence triumphs over physical limits. Meanwhile, the youth from Faith, Hope & Love Academy, many from difficult backgrounds, embraced the challenge with energy and enthusiasm, cheering themselves on.
For Shin-Deng Home for the Disabled’s members, running was more than exercise—it was a journey of growth and perseverance. One participant shared, “I used to think I couldn’t do it, but now I know that with effort, anything is possible.”
Similarly, the youth from Faith, Hope & Love Academy found confidence and a sense of achievement through marathon training, learning to set goals and push their limits.
Foundation senior officer Liu Meng-Fen expressed deep admiration for the runners’ determination, emphasizing the importance of giving them opportunities to engage with society and build self-confidence. Shin-Deng Home for the Disabled’s director, Huang Yan-Zhi, and Academy teacher, Liu Wei-Wen, both thanked the Foundation for its unwavering support, highlighting how this race empowered participants beyond physical endurance—it became a milestone in their lives.
