Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation Partners with Digital Humanitarian Association & WaCare to Support Elderly in Rural Areas

Nov 04.2024 | Medical Care in Remote Areas

To address aging population challenges and limited healthcare access in rural areas, Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation has collaborated with the Digital Humanitarian Association and WaCare Telehealth for four consecutive years. Through digital technology, professional medical resources are extended to rural seniors, enabling them to receive healthcare services from home.

The telehealth platform offers online courses, health consultations, and interactive sessions, improving seniors' health awareness and reducing hospital visits. Over the past three years, the foundation has supported 17 community centers in Nantou, Taitung, and Yunlin, conducting more than 700 sessions with 42,000 participants. This year, support continues for four more centers in Yunlin.

Foundation Chairman Daniel Wu recently visited Niucuo Community in Yunlin, where seniors expressed gratitude for the platform’s convenience. One elder shared, "Seeing a doctor used to take a whole day, but now I can consult online from home!"

Pan Jen-Hao, founder of WaCare, emphasized that digital healthcare bridges the urban-rural gap, and future advancements will further enhance senior care.

The Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation remains committed to leveraging technology to ensure equal healthcare access, creating a healthier and happier life for rural seniors.
