Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation and Evergreen Laurel Hotel (Keelung) Cared for Genesis’s Residents in a Vegetative State and Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The Genesis Social Welfare Foundation, established in 1986, has 17 care facilities across Taiwan, providing essential services for those in a vegetative state. The Keelung branch serves about 50 residents and provides at-home services to over 80 families, offering relief to caregivers and enabling them to resume work.
The Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation sponsored the purchase of a large dehumidifier to help reduce mites and bacteria caused by Keelung's humid climate. The dehumidifier will improve residents' skin health and overall well-being.
The partnership also coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation’s Keelung branch. Chairman Daniel Wu and Yang Yin-Zhi, Operation Director of Evergreen Laurel Hotel (Keelung), visited the branch to thank staff for their dedication. They presented meal boxes and cakes as a gesture of appreciation.
In gratitude, Genesis Social Welfare Foundation founder Mr. Cao Qing presented a hand-painted ink artwork created using cotton swabs, inspired by his early caregiving experiences. The artwork was later donated for auction to benefit the foundation.
Li Shu-Ting, Vice Director of the Keelung branch, thanked the Foundation for the dehumidifier, which will reduce infection risks, and expressed appreciation for the meal boxes and cakes that uplifted the staff.
This collaboration reflects the power of compassion in improving the lives of those in a vegetative state and their caregivers.
