I Believe I can fly— Aviation Career Seminar for Rural Students

May 09.2025 | Closing the Distance Between Cities and Rural Areas, Love Never Stops

The Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation teamed up with the CommonWealth Magazine Education Foundation on May 9th to host an aviation career talk at Minhe Junior High School in Shuili Township, Nantou County.  Sixty-five students gained insights from former EVA Air Captain Han Hsiang-Fan and Professor Wan Kuang-Man (former Chief Purser).

Captain Han and Professor Wan shared their aviation experiences, offering students a glimpse into pilot training, in-flight safety, and the importance of service and professionalism. Both emphasized the vital role of English in aviation, encouraging students to strengthen their language skills to meet global standards. Inspired by their stories, one student said, “I used to think an aviation career was out of reach, but now I realize if I study hard, especially English, I can pursue it too.”

Minhe Junior High's Director of Academic Affairs, Cheng Chia-Wen, thanked the Foundations for broadening students' horizons. Chairman Mr. Daniel Wu from the Foundation emphasized early career awareness for future confidence. CommonWealth Education Foundation Executive Director Lin Er-Hsiang emphasized that reading broadens horizons and career talks make learning more real, expressing pride in bringing such inspiration to rural schools.

The Foundations aim to continue helping students explore futures and inspire them to pursue their dreams.
