The Foundation is the long-term meal sponsor of the Baseball Team in Guanxi Junior High School in a bid to care for the disadvantaged students of low-income families in Hsinchu areas including Wufeng and Jianshi. Students on the Baseball Team, to express their gratitude for the Foundation, decided to pay it forward with a cleanup in Catholic Hua Kuang Center.

This cleanup was particularly significant. The students did what they could to show gratitude by weeding and giving the Center a general scrub-up. They also carried out a coordination training session with the residents in the Center using their training equipment at the Baseball Team. The students were kind and helpful as shown in the pictures taken during their interaction with the Center residents.

The Foundation staff gave their words of encouragement to the Baseball Team: we often see that many baseball players, once they are famous, would start engaging in charitable events, for instance, Chen Wei-Yin who recently returned to Taiwan and donated the proceeds of T-shirt sales to Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders But you start doing charity every year, even before you are famous, way ahead of these baseball stars. The students were encouraged to remain grateful and contribute to society to add extra value to our life.

The Foundation also donated to the Center ear thermometers, masks, gloves, wet wipes, alcohol spray and hand wash for good pandemic prevention measures.
