"Be Your Wings" Contest Award Ceremony – Turning Love and Hope into Power
The Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation and Mandarin Daily News co-hosted the “ Be Your Wings” creative contest, drawing over 2,000 participants from across Taiwan, inspired by song lyrics, the contest encouraged expressions of gratitude toward those who helped overcome challenges. The 2024 award ceremony “Be Your Wings” Contest was held on December 21 at the Chang Yung-Fa Foundation International Conference Hall, showcasing 81 winning works. Attendees included
Chairman Daniel Wu, Chairman Sun Qing-Guo and esteemed academics and social welfare leaders.
The contest featured seven categories for all ages, with submissions reflecting emotional depth and creativity. One moving story came from a rare disease patient, who described overcoming obstacles with their mother's love. Another submission contrasted war’s cruelty with the beauty of a peaceful home, highlighting the courage of caregivers.
Chairman Daniel Wu emphasized the importance of emotional support in rebuilding lives, alongside material aid. He encouraged everyone to be a "wing" for someone else, offering strength in tough times. Chairman Sun Qing-Guo spoke about the power of art in expressing gratitude and raising awareness for those in need. Wan Guang-Man praised how the works showed the impact of support in overcoming difficulties.
The winning pieces were published in Mandarin Daily News and shared online, with an exhibition set for April 2025. Winners received laser-engraved insulated mugs as a memento.
Through this initiative, the Foundation aims to inspire compassion and encourage everyone to be a source of strength for others.
