Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation Honored for Supporting Mataian Disaster Recovery
On January 24, the Taiwan Counseling Psychologist Union held its annual meeting in Taipei and presented an appreciation award to the Chang Yung-Fa Charity Foundation, with Chairman Daniel Wu receiving it on behalf of the Foundation. The award recognized its steadfast support for post-disaster mental health recovery following the Mataian disaster.

In the wake of the disaster, the Foundation promptly distributed 2,000 electric fans to affected families in Hualien to provide immediate relief. Beyond material aid, it also funded social workers and psychologists to conduct counseling, needs assessments, and emotional support services, helping residents rebuild both their daily lives and mental well-being.

The Union praised the Foundation’s timely intervention, which provided frontline psychologists with essential resources, making it a great example of collaboration between NGOs and professionals.

Chairman Wu expressed his appreciation for the long-term dedication of psychologists and encouraged them to “become wings for others,” bringing hope and support to those in need.

The Foundation will continue to integrate material aid with mental health support, working with partners to help communities recover and move forward.
